ISS Group Hits Home-Run with Wellman Products Group’s iPurchase Success Story at Recent QAD Midwest User Group Conference

ISS Group, who has been bringing cost effective and innovative eCommerce and web-based Business Process Improvement solutions to the QAD^® community since 1995, recently returned from a successful Spring 2010 Midwest User Group Conference in Sandusky, Ohio, where ISS Group participated as a vendor and sponsor at the highest attended Midwest User Group Conference since 2005.

Nick Weidner, Director of Sourcing at Wellman Products Group, presented a case study of Wellman Products’ successful implementation of ISS Group’s iPurchase™ solution during the Distribution Track Session.

Nick Weidner and ISS Group presented an encore presentation this past Friday, April 16th discussing how Wellman Products Group is utilizing ISS Group's iPurchase eProcurement solution to reduce MRO and non-production purchasing costs. Mr. Weidner also presented an overview of Wellman's implementation of iPurchase, the objectives of implementing this solution, the challenges faced during implementation, and the ROI being generated. A brief demo of the solution was also provided, followed by a Q&A session.

jQuery: Microsoft to Adopt jQuery JavaScript Library

Microsoft plans to incorporate the jQuery JavaScript library into its Visual Studio platform and use within Microsoft's ASP.NET AJAX framework and ASP.NET MVC Framework. Additionally, Microsoft will be developing additional controls, or widgets, to run on top of jQuery that will be easily deployable within .NET applications.

AJAX is a web application framework and methodology that can retrieve data from a server asynchronously in the background without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page, and has been in use for some time with several of ISS Group's solutions - such as iPurchase, iQuote and iPortal - to bring the "web 2.0" look and feel to the end user.

According to the jQuery Website, "jQuery is a fast and concise JavaScript Library that simplifies HTML document traversing, event handling, animating, and AJAX interactions for rapid web development. jQuery is designed to change the way that you write JavaScript."

ISS Group has been using jQuery since 2007, realizing it would extremely benefit its Customers utilizing Progress Corporation's WebSpeed and Database, Microsofts Dynamics CRM and SQL Database, and the many integration points between them.
